Capitation

Capitation is a new way of organizing primary care. This payment method has been the subject of negotiations between the Ministry of Health and the FMOQ for some time. Several provinces such as Ontario, Alberta and Nova Scotia are already using this model or have implemented pilot projects to test capitation. In Quebec, there is still not much information on how capitation could be implemented. All we know is that this payment model may be introduced to the province through pilot projects within the next few years.

With capitation on the horizon, what will happen to your income, your patients and your practice in general?  In this episode of the Baladoïde podcast, our medical billing experts analyze this payment method and discuss how it may impact your practice and billing.
